Only He can make the Song, Only He can make the Singer, Only He can bring together, Creation and Creator, Each but One in Three: Created He.
Singing is such sweet sorrow. It is the most direct and immediate of the arts. We communicate directly in real time using our entire being. Our words and our conscious thoughts become part of the audience's life experience. This is a precious gift that must be used to make all of our lives more meaningful. How we use this gift affects us all throughout our lives although the interaction happens in one moment of time. Here are recordings of recent work of mine. The Lucevan le Stelle from Tosca, acutally was recorded during a thunderstorm. It was so appropriate I had to put it here, although my throat was still a little raw from painting my closet and bedroom.
Dr. Larry Oubre's ProfileLarry Oubre has been performing in stage productions and operas for over 30 years and teaching for more than 20 years. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Masters Degree in Music and the Doctorate of Musical Arts. He has studied in the United States and Europe, including Voice and Acting classes here and in Berlin, Germany. He has appeared in productions in the United States and abroad. His instruction has resulted in appearances of his students in Professional productions and National Contests and Musical Theater Programs in Texas and New York and Pennsylvania as well others venues worldwide. Students have also appeared with bands, in recordings and commercial work. Larry Oubre has been a full member of National Association of Teachers of Singing for over 15 years and has had semifinalists and finalists in their annual auditions.
